November 10, 2009 (Tokyo, Japan)—VIVID UI®, VIVID Movie, and VIVID Avatar Maker™, respectively developed by Acrodea, Inc. (President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, have been implemented to the 2009 Winter-Spring models being released by NTT DoCoMo, Inc. (CEO and President: Ryuji Yamada), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
Under the master license agreement as announced in August 2007, all models (excluding a portion) of the 905i series adopted VIVID UI and VIVID Movie, and the cumulative implementation has reached 70 models to date. New handsets to be released as 2009 winter-spring models are also implemented. VIVID UI and VIVID Movie are compatible with the Kisekae Tool® service provided by NTT DoCoMo. In addition, VIVID UI is compatible with Direct Menu, as well as the latest i-Concier® and i-Widget® services by NTT DoCoMo. Starting with the winter-spring models, i-Concier® and i-Widget® have touch-screen compatibility (see Fig. 1), and i-Widget® also has landscape display support. The VIVID UI feature option VIVID UI Effect Framework has embedded striking screen-transition effects to the user interfaces (UI) on the handsets.

In addition, VIVID Avatar Maker, jointly developed by Acrodea and Eitarosoft, Inc. (President and CEO: Eitaro Nishijima), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, has been implemented to the 2009 winter-spring models as “i-Avatar Maker,” which is also compatible with i-Concier®. The compatibility means that avatars created in i-Avatar Maker can be used as Machikyara®. Uploading avatar data created with i-Avatar Maker to the i-Avatar™ mobile site operated by D2 Communications provides a link for displaying such avatars on SNS, Deco Mail®, profiles, games, etc.
Plans call for the successive release of mobile handsets implemented with VIVID UI, VIVID Movie, and VIVID Avatar Maker in November and beyond.
