November 21, 2008 (Tokyo, Japan)—X-FORGE by Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, and by Bandai Networks Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Satoshi Oshita), headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has been adopted in the new handset models N-01A, N-02A, and N-04A (made by NEC) to be released from NTT DoCoMo in November and onward, and implemented to the X-FORGE compatible 3D game “Avatar*Bowling ©,” which is an i-Appli.
Operating on various platforms and operating systems (OS), X-FORGE represents an SDK (software development kit) for development of high-performance, high-end game content that targets mainly mobile devices. The SDK contains all components necessary for game production, including the game engine, artist’s tools, utilities, and the runtime library incorporating functions generally required for game execution. A suite of tools, documentation, tutorials, sample programs, and sample data is provided for 3D data creation
By implementing the X-FORGE engine, games that command 3D video with immediate reality can be enabled. For “Avatar*Bowling,” moreover, avatar data created in the i-Appli “i AvatarMaker” can used as an original player character.
Handsets implemented with X-FORGE are planned for successive release for November onward.
