June 20, 2008 (Tokyo, Japan)—Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, and Eitarosoft, Inc. (President and CEO: Eitaro Nishijima), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, announced the implementation of their jointly developed VIVID Avatar Maker to NTT DoCoMo’s mobile handset model F706i (made by Fujitsu) as the i-Appli® “Avatar Maker for F.”
Based on photos taken by users or image data stored in the data folder on a mobile phone with camera, VIVID Avatar Maker allows individual users to create, save, edit, and receive and send through data communications “look-alike avatars” in simple steps. VIVID Avatar Maker can prepare and place all of the body parts by default. The setup enables the creation of look-alikes by modifying the parts.
Created avatar data can be exported as material for Deco Mail® (decorative email), decorative picture fonts, or Flash in either JPEG, GIF, or SWF file formats, and also be used for game characters or a character-based (or avatar-based) UI.
Plans call for the successive release of mobile handsets implemented with VIVID Avatar Maker in June and beyond.
