June 20, 2008 (Tokyo, Japan)—Implemented with VIVID UI and VIVID Movie developed by Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, the 706i model series mobile phones of NTT DoCoMo, Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo (CEO and President: Masao Nakamura) have been released.
Among the NTT DoCoMo 706i series, the N706i and N706ie (made by NEC); the F706i (made by Fujitsu); the P706ie and P706iµ (made by Panasonic Mobile Communications); the SH706i, SH706ie, and SH706iw (made by Sharp); and the SO706i (made by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications) model handsets were implemented respectively.
According to the master license announced in August 2007, Acrodea’s VIVID UI and VIVID Movie are sublicensed from NTT DoCoMo to the terminal manufacturers for implementation. Following the implementation to all 906i series models, this release marks the implementation to the 706i series models with a few terminals excluded.
Moreover, NTT DoCoMo is providing the Kisekae Tool UI Creator, developed on the basis of Acrodea’s authoring tool, as a tool to support UI design work for the Kisekae Tool®, also provided by NTT DoCoMo. UI content for each 706i series handset model can be created with Kisekae Tool UI Creator. The pre-installed Direct Menu, a new menu arranged for ease of access to frequently used functions and services, is created as kisekae content.
Plans call for the successive release of mobile handsets implemented with VIVID UI and VIVID Movie in June and beyond.
