(CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, and Yappa Corporation (CEO and President： Masahiro Ito), headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo have announced the deployment the Spin UI effect engine developed by Yappa as a new function in Acrodea’s delivery of VIVID UI for the NTT DoCoMo handset models SH906i and SH906iTV (made by Sharp).
By embedding the effects-specialized Spin UI engine by Yappa to a foundation of the next-generation technology set for VIVID UI, Acrodea can deliver dynamic UI visual effects, and a vastly improved, innovative UI environment with intuitive access means to information and functions, and linking to input devices like touch pads.
Henceforth, Acrodea and Yappa intend to enables UI technologies that will achieve stress-free access to services, and easier operations for functionality.

VIVID UI is a user interface platform developed by Acrodea for mobile phones, and represents innovative middleware that can integrate various types of multimedia content, such as still pictures, 3D graphics, animation, and video. VIVID UI enables mobile phones that can be readily customized with graphically enhanced menus and standby screens, according to preferences of the user.
The VIVID UI authoring tool incorporates features for creating menu transitions through a visual context, as well as for menu content emulation. By using this tool, handset manufacturers and content providers can easily create compatible content with a wealth of expression. VIVID UI is currently provided to mobile communication carriers in Japan as a master license.
Developed by Yappa, the multi-platform compatible Spin UI Engine enables innovative, rich expressions in visual effects. The engine supports various effects and animation that can seamlessly incorporate intuitive and appealing screen transitions. Developers can effectively and easily employ these effects. Naturally, the linkage to VIVID UI is emphasized; therefore, Yappa UI technologies are exposed so that developers can easily designate motion with two-dimensional and three-dimensional effects. The arrangement avoids the need for complicated computing, so that developers can create attractive UI expediently.
