September 27, 2007 (Tokyo, Japan)—TV Tokyo Broadband, Inc. (CEO and President: Koji Kamibayashi, “TXBB”), headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and Acrodea, Inc. (CEO and President: Junya Tsutsumi), headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, announced that the two companies have reached an accord for a comprehensive business alliance agreement.
In order to raise the utility value of VIVID UI, developed under new concepts that allow changes to the user interfaces of mobile devices according to user preferences with respect to menu operability and graphically enriched content, and VIVID Movie, which enables menus incorporating animations and viewing environments for simple video content, Acrodea and TXBB, with a wealth of experience in the content business, intend to drive jointly marketing and service initiatives that leverage the business networks belonging to the two companies.
Employing its capacity to design and expertise to build content services, and its track record and organization to procure and aggregate content, TXBB will pioneer new transmission pathways and B-to-B alliance services that VIVID UI and VIVID Movie technologies make possible. As the first step in this new business alliance, the companies plan to promote marketing and development of VIVID Movie Pro (tentative name), and to release the product to market during the current fiscal year.
